Watch out Gordon Ramsey, these pirates are cooking with fire!
On the Hesperia campus only, this sub genre within the Career Arts Conservatory is the one of the newest programs offered at Encore. Students start with safety in the kitchen, move into knife skills, then cooking. As the students become more advanced they take part in tasting challenges, serve dinners and cook for specialty events, earn their food handler’s cards, and progress into a restaurant management class. This program is currently a two year program offered to grade 10 – 12 in Hesperia.
The facility offers a full commercial kitchen with an adjacent lab room for work in the classroom. The program started in the 2017/2018 school year and has been a very popular addition to Encore’s arts programs.
